California Crime Victims Coalition


The California Crime Victims Coalition, Inc. was formed in 2002 in response to correctional staff’s concerns regarding the growing number of staff assaults and crime victims.  There was a void that many correctional staff fell into after becoming victims. California Crime Victims Coalition will help fill this void through a collaborative effort of all correctional staff.

Goals:
·        Help support staff assault victims and their families’ recover from physical and emotional               trauma they may suffer due to an assault.  

·        To uphold a victim’s right to be protected from further physical and emotional harm.

·        Consider victims and victims’ families needs.

·        Hold offenders accountable for past and current victimization.


The Benefits: $10,000.00 no clause death benefit, (on or off duty) through Armed Forces Benefit Association.  This benefit will be paid within 48 hours of a verified claim.

Membership: Membership is open through payroll deduction to all employees of the California Department of Corrections or California Youth Authority.  For a minimum of $10.00 per month, an employee can become a supporting member.
